Gameplay Designer

Angry Mob Games is looking for a hands-on Gameplay Designer to help shape the core of our upcoming co-op multiplayer game. This isn’t a “write docs and pass them on” role — you’ll be building, testing, and tweaking gameplay in-engine every day.

You’ll work closely with a small, tight-knit team to turn ideas into something players can actually feel.

Our goal is simple: Make something that’s instantly fun, highly replayable, and built around a strong core loop — not a pile of features.

What you’ll do

  • Prototype a lot
You’ll take ideas and turn them into playable prototypes fast. Test mechanics, controls, and player interactions, see what works, kill what doesn’t, and push the good stuff further. Your work will steer the game by showing what’s fun, not just talking about it.

  • Design the gameplay
You’ll shape how the game plays moment to moment — evolving the core loop, designing mechanics that are easy to pick up and fun to master, and making sure everything supports co-op, tension, and player expression.

  • Bring bold, playable ideas
We want inventive, fun, sometimes crazy ideas — but always grounded in playability. We care more about how things feel, the moments they create, and whether players want to jump back in, than about long feature lists.

  • Work closely with the team
You’ll collaborate with programmers, artists, and level designers to try things, break things, fix what matters, and keep the game moving forward.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience designing and shipping gameplay-driven games

  • Solid Unity experience (coding or visual scripting, plus blockouts)

  • Great instincts for what makes mechanics fun, readable, and replayable

  • Ability to go from idea → prototype → iteration → decision

  • Comfortable working directly in-engine and testing your own work

  • Clear, practical communication

If you love tight mechanics, clever co-op, and finding fun through play, you’ll fit right in.

We are open to artists working Remotely or on a Hybrid basis, in Barcelona.
