Senior Database Programmer

Angry Mob Games is currently seeking a Senior Database Programmer, to work on our upcoming online multiplayer games.

• The Sr. MySQL DBA’s primary focus is to research, evaluate, plan design, allocate, implement, support and optimize all aspects of our games MySQL databases
• Work in a team of software and database engineers responsible for delivery, deployment, and maintenance of database applications and services.
• Data engineer very large data sets – decide on storage methods and formats, access methods, summarization techniques
• Design and implement data mining techniques to provide insights on product usage, data dimensionality, strong-weak relationships, etc.
  

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience designing, developing, tuning, optimizing, deploying and updating MySQL instances in a high volume transactional environment with critical uptime requirements 
• Must have configured and managed replication/standby instances of MySQL
• Must have configured and managed online backup technologies in MySQL and ensure disaster recovery and data retention protocols (backup, monitoring, security, installation)
• Must be familiar with scripting languages and have experience writing tools to automate common database activities
• Experience with highly scalable databases
• Bachelors or higher degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Desired Skills and Pluses (Not necessary, but any of these could be an advantage)

• Experience administering SQL Servers in an enterprise environment/cloud computing
• Comfortable working with huge data sets and massively high concurrent-user load
• Experience with sharding and/or sharded databases a plus
• Strong Apple App Store, Facebook platform experience
